Greenland, July 2001

In July 2001, I was honoured to be a part of an expedition to Northpearyland, Greenland, literally at the "top of the world." We spent three weeks exploring the northern-most land on earth. In addition to my role as a cinematographer, I had ample time to explore and document my own travels. During our trek, we made several "first ascents," one of which we hope will soon be known as "John Denver Peak." We also documented the location of the northern-most mountain on earth.

On our last full day in North Pearyland, I made a solo, first ascent of the northern-most summit on the planet. (N83.37.058 degrees latitude.) Although not technically a "mountain," it is definately the northern-most "hill" or "summit"! I hope to have it named "Mt. Katherine" in honor of my lovely wife.

Greenland is a magical place. I was honoured to get to visit it.

Some of these images are rather large, but they are well worth the wait! Enjoy!
