The John Muir Trail stretches across 211 miles of the rugged High Sierra in California. Named for the naturalist John Muir, this trail crosses through some of the most beautiful landscapes in America. The trail begins at the top of Mt. Whitney and traverses north to end up in Yosemite Valley. As part of the Pacific Crest Trail, this area sees a lot of use. Still, it is very possible to have a true wilderness experience here. It is a daunting expedition, but well worth the effort. NEW! |
